Ship deep Outlook and Microsoft 365 integrations in days

Microsoft Graph puts Outlook mail and calendars, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint behind one API, and each resource has its own permissions, paging, and change notifications. With Ampersand, you can get this integration live for your customers in days.

Build a custom data model to handle complex configurations

No two Microsoft 365 tenants are the same. Every customer licenses different apps, grants different permissions, and keeps their mail, calendars, and files their own way. AI agents need infrastructure that understands Microsoft 365 at the per-tenant level.

3 / 4 customers

3 / 8 customers

  • Customer A: Message (standard), Event (standard), Mail Folder (standard)
  • Customer B: Event (standard), Contact (standard), Chat (standard)
  • Customer C: Message (standard), Drive Item (standard), Calendar (standard)

Enable software and agents to take bi-directional action

With Ampersand, your engineers don’t need to learn Microsoft Graph’s query options, paging, and change notification subscriptions. Simply declare the actions you want your agents to take: read, write, subscribe, proxy.

Example. Write: “Send the follow-up email my agent drafted after the call.”

  1. Ampersand refreshes this customer’s Microsoft Entra ID token.
  2. Ampersand wraps the message the way Microsoft Graph expects it.
  3. Ampersand sends it from the customer’s Outlook mailbox through sendMail.
  4. Ampersand confirms the send to your product.

Ensure your Microsoft integration is always available

  • Managed auth

Fully offload Microsoft OAuth. Ampersand stores and refreshes every customer’s tokens for the Microsoft Graph scopes you choose.

  • Incremental reads

After a full historic backfill, each sync reads only the messages, events, and other records that changed.

  • Subscription renewal

Microsoft Graph subscriptions expire within days. Ampersand renews them for every customer, so change notifications keep arriving.

Not all Microsoft 365 integrations are created equal

Outlook is where much of the business world keeps its email and its calendar. With Ampersand, your developers can create a best-in-class Microsoft 365 integration.

Write sends mail from the inbox and creates and updates drafts; sent items and the calendar view are read-only. Elsewhere, Write covers the resources Microsoft Graph lets an app create or update.

Subscribe uses Microsoft Graph change notifications, so it covers the resources Graph sends them for, such as messages, events, contacts, users, groups, and chats.

Questions people ask before they book a demo

  • Which Microsoft 365 objects can I read and write?

You can read the Microsoft Graph resources behind Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Planner, and OneNote, including messages, events, calendars, contacts, users, and groups. You can send mail, create and update drafts, events, and contacts, and write to the other resources Microsoft Graph lets an app create or update. Sent items are read-only.

  • Can I get real-time updates from Outlook?

Yes. Subscribe Actions use Microsoft Graph change notifications for messages, events, and the other resources that support them. Ampersand creates each customer’s subscriptions and renews them before they expire.

  • How do my customers connect Microsoft 365?

You register an app in the Azure portal, choose its scopes, and add its client ID and secret to Ampersand. Include the offline_access scope, so Ampersand gets a refresh token and your customers don’t have to sign in again.

  • Does Ampersand offer a unified API?

Ampersand doesn’t offer a unified API. It works with Microsoft 365’s own objects and fields as each customer sets them up, which differs from how a unified API works. We also give you the primitives to build your own unified data model.
